Wedding FAQ's

How many wedding guests does the Harbor View Hotel & Resort accommodate?
We can accommodate up to 120 guests indoors in The Edgartown Room and 300 guests outdoors on The Lawn.

Do you offer an area for ceremonies?
The Gazebo is located on the front wrap-around porch of the hotel with spectacular panoramic views overlooking the Edgartown Lighthouse, Harbor and Chappaquiddick Island beyond. The Gazebo provides the perfect backdrop for those seeking the essenseessence of beach. For those who do choose a beach wedding, The Gazebo can to utilized as a back-up option in the event of inclement weather. The Gazebo can accommodate seating for 100 guests with additional standing room.

Is there a requirement to reserve a certain number of guestrooms?
There is no obligation to reserve any guestrooms. If your are interested in blocking rooms for your guests, we are happy to hold standard rooms at no obligation.

Will I need to rent anything for my wedding day?
The Harbor View Hotel & Resort provides linens, tables, flatware, china, stemware, dance floor and chairs for both the ceremony and reception. If your wedding reception takes place on The Lawn, renting a tent is required.

If you really want to customize the tables for your reception, you can also rent fancy linens matching you wedding color scheme, table overlays and chair covers with bows to further enhance the ambiance of the room.

Do you recommend hiring a wedding coordinator?
The decision of whether or not to hire a Wedding Coordinator is a personal one. You should consider how large your event is going to be; how many other functions in addition to your reception you are going to plan; what other things would you like to have the coordinator assist with; how many other people are willing to take on extra responsibility for specific tasks.

If you decide not to hire an independent coordinator, your Catering Sales Manager will help you through the planning process leading up to your wedding and will work closely with you as your on-site coordinator. This will ensure that your special day is everything you have envisioned and more. We work hard so that you can relax and enjoy the company of your friends and family.

How long does a typical wedding last?
The Harbor View Hotel & Resort offers 5 1/2 hours for you and your wedding guests to enjoy the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.
