Cruise Edgartown aboard the Classic Yacht Stardust

Step aboard Stardust, our classic Bunker and Ellis picnic yacht, for a luxury cruise around Edgartown’s scenic harbor. Reserve a spot on one of two daily cruises or book a private excursion for groups of up to six people. Picnic lunches and beverages can be ordered from room service, delivered to your room.

Our licensed captains will recommend one of their favorite excursions for a most enjoyable day of cruising, picnicking and swimming.

Enjoy the Vineyard in our Center Console Boat

Our 31-foot Center Console boat is available for full or half-day charter to go explore the Vineyard. Our licensed captains can organize a memorable – venture cruises for a day of fun.

Our boat is also available to explore the Vineyard’s many secluded beaches and hidden coves.  From State Beach to South Beach, Vineyard Haven to Nantucket, our captains and crew can customize a magical excursion just for you.

Half-Day Adventure Cruises

State Beach is one of the most popular beaches on the island. The waters are calm and ideal for swimming that looks out on to the Vineyard Sound. It has a very gradual slope into the water and is a children friendly beach.

South Beach is a beautiful beach that looks out on to the Atlantic Ocean. This beach is the social beach of the island with occasional volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and soft sands to lay out the sun chair with your favorite book.

Norton Point Beach, a 2.5 mile-long strip of sand and dunes, once was a link between Martha's Vineyard and the island of Chappaquiddick. Norton Point Beach can vary dramatically—from 95 feet to 300 feet. This ever-changing environment provides an important habitat for nesting shorebirds and shells to collect.

Cape Pogue - on Chappaquiddick Island's eastern edge is a barrier beach formed thousands of years ago by offshore currents that deposited tons of sand. Today this beach extends for seven miles from Wasque Point past the Cape Poge Lighthouse to the Gut.

Full Day Ultimate Cruise

Vineyard Voyage:
This trip goes around the island in a day! Take off out of Edgartown harbor on a voyage around Cape Poge Lighthouse then run the whole south shore of the island. As you start to see the beautiful Cliffs of Aquinnah, take a short jaunt out to Nomans Island. Pull into Menemsha for the freshest lobster, shellfish and clam chowder then run the North West shore of the island up Vineyard sound to Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and return to Edgartown. This is weather dependent and for the true adventure seeker.   

Nantucket Island:
Enjoy some Island hopping aboard our 31 Center Console power boat for a fast run to Nantucket. Relax on the ride as you observe seals sunning themselves on the shoals. The captain will bring you to secluded spots on Tuckernuck Island on the tip of Nantucket or cruise straight to Nantucket harbor for the ultimate day of shopping and dine at the charming restaurants. Embark on your return to Harbor View Hotel & Resort docks for a sunset and a cocktail at Henry’s Bar.

Junior Sailing Programs

The Harbor View Hotel & Resort offers private sailing lessons for guests eight years old to young adults. Our U.S. Sailing certified instructors provide one-on-one and small group instruction. Make new friends and learn a skill you can enjoy your whole life.

• For children 8 – 12, we offer two hour one-on-one sailing classes using our Open Bic sail boats. 
• For young adults 13 – 19, we also offer one-on-one sailing lessons on Vanguard 420 boats. 

Classes are held near the Edgartown Lighthouse. All sailing programs are arranged through our concierge, and 24-hour advanced booking is suggested.

Kayak The Vineyard

Harbor View Hotel & Resort has teamed up with Island Spirit Kayak to offer guests a most unique way to experience the Vineyard – by kayak.  And it’s great exercise too! You can start from our hotel docks and paddle around the harbor or customize a trip along the coast or on one of the islands many ponds.

Island Spirit Kayak tours accommodate all levels of skill and ability. Before each tour instructors will familiarize you with your equipment and paddling techniques. You will then have the opportunity to practice your new skills on the tour with a game of Kayak Ultimate Frisbee!

All kayak tours are arranged through our concierge, 24 hour advanced booking is required. All equipment and instruction is supplied.

Kayak Tours

Reading Room to Kaleb’s Pond or Eel Pond
Explore the islands wildlife and beaches while learning in an exciting environment. Paddle with a tour guide to Kaleb’s pond on Chappaquiddick Island and enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach before returning. Departing at 10:00am – 1:00pm
Fee: $65 per person including equipment

Sunset & Moonlight Paddle
Toast the day’s sunset with and hors d’ourves beach picnic. Paddle back under the stars, with glow sticks illuminating your kayak. Departing around 7:00pm

Harbor View Kayak Day
Begin the day with one hour guided tour in Edgartown Harbor from our beach in front of the Harbor View Hotel. Island Spirit Kayak will offer on demand service and no reservations needed on Fridays .
