An Evening of Comedy at Harbor View
Please join us Saturday, April 8th for an Evening of Comedy and laughter at the Harbor View Hotel. Featuring comedians Mark Scalia, Chris Pennie and Sarah Martin.
The line up:
Since starting his stand up career in Boston, Mark has entertained tens of thousands of people at comedy clubs, colleges and universities, corporate and private events, and religious venues across the United States and Canada for over 20 years. He brings his audiences into the show by being funny, clever, personable and warm. He’s a crowd favorite wherever he goes! Several friends attended to watch and cheer Mark on as he performed his first stand up set at a small comedy club near Boston. One of the attendees as his father, Mark Sr. After a few moments of nervousness the first laugh came from the audience. Mark had found his place on stage. Twenty plus years later the feeling of joy he got when his words mixed with the crowd has never left him. He continues to remember that first night and his Dad in every performance. His first real test as a comic came when he competed in the Boston Comedy Riot, making the semi-final round in 1991 and 1992. He continued to work all around New England and expanded into new markets. Mark has been invited to many comedy festivals all over the country including: The Boston International Comedy Festival, Seattle International Comedy Festival and the New Orleans Comedy Festival.
Chris Pennie has been entertaining crowds since 2005. As a life long bachelor and full-time single dad Chris relies on his dysfunctional family and off beat view of the world to find humor in every day life. If you have kids or were one in the past you’ll be entertained by Chris’ daily battles.
Chris was runner-up in CMTs Next Big Comic and in 2011, he was a finalist in the Plymouth Rock Comedy Festival and Dick Doherty's Beantown Comedy Riots. He was invited to the Laughing Skull Festival in Atlanta and the Boston Comedy festival and notably, Chris was a finalist in the Mohegan Sun's “Funniest Comic in New England.”
A woman, but certainly not a lady. Sarah gives her sardonic perspective on life with some extra sass. Using her vitality and dry wit she has been building a name for herself in the comedy world by being real... and a riot. Sarah has opened for some of her favorites like the infamous Bill Burr and Rich Vos and aspires to be the next character on 'Orange is the New Black', so if anyone has any contacts, let her know. She has been featured on shows in the Boston Comedy Festival, Rhode Island Comedy Festival, Granite State Comedy Festival and performed in clubs across the country from Laugh Boston to San Francisco's Punchline. Sarah's comedy has been featured on WAAF, WROR and most recently on international Late Night TV with Steve Katsos and featured in The World Series of Comedy.
